Mini-Portfolio

My name is Andrew Ta and I am pursuing my career as a 3d Modeler/Surfacer (hopefully in cinematic) . I am currently attending San Jose State University and plan on graduating Spring 2015. I've completed the majority of the classes in Animation/Illustration (Ani 114,115,117A,129A,129B). The only classes I have left are 116, Physics of Animation, 118B, and BFA. I spent Winter break modeling and touching up on my portfolio for Blizzard's Summer Internship as a Modeler/Surfacer in the Cinematic department. After I graduate, my goal is to work for Blizzard, DreamWorks, Pixar, ILM, or any thing I can get my hands on, but my main goal is to pursue a career in the movie industry. Here is a mini portfolio that I put together. Enjoy

This model/sculpt took about 3 weeks to model and a week to gather reference and anatomy reference. I'm using t his model to apply for the summer intern at Blizzard. I still need to do a turnaround for this model. Keeping fingers crossed.

This is my concept of snake eyes I did for summer. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to design in Zbrush and about 3 days to model in Maya. this was my first model / sculpt I did that was hard surfacing. I learned a lot from youtube videos and various Zbrush tutorial websites.

This is another project I did over summer break. It took about 3 weeks to model in Maya. It was very hard because the Audi blueprints didn't match up so I had to look for additional reference on Google. This is my second attempt at hard surface texturing in Maya.

A quick turnaround of a zombie model I did for Professor Dave Gustlin in Ani 129A a few semesters ago.

The First Post

This is my first post of the Spring semester. It was hard getting into the classes I need. I was hoping to get into ANI 116 this semester so that I have more time for BFA. Anyways, enough rambling I made this blog mainly for posting my Physics homework assignments. Have a good day. Cheers!
